HACKETTSOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University men's basketball team fell to Centenary College 84-80 Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Marquise Boggs netted 22 points and nine rebounds for Neumann. Norm Dorsey-Poles netted 12 points off the bench.
Rob Urie led the Cyclones with 20 points. Ludner Innocent notched 19 and Will Atkinson netted 17. Jacob Halicki added 10 points.
The teams tied for the sixth time in the game at 71-all with 4:25 left on the clock. Centenary then went on a 10-2 run to go up by an 81-73 score with one minute remaining.
With time winding down, Boggs hit a three-pointer to bring Neumann to within four points, 84-80, but the Knights could not get any closer.
The two teams stayed close in the first half. The Cyclones were up by as many as seven points in the half. Centenary went into halftime with a three point lead, 41-38.
The second half played out to be the same as the first. Neumann held the lead for five straight minutes in the second half, but the teams still continued to battle before Centenary came away with the four point win.
Neumann (2-3, 1-1 CSAC) will host Marywood University Monday evening beginning at 8 p.m.
