CLARK SUMMIT, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team picked up a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) victory, 80-67, on the road at Baptist Bible College Saturday afternoon.
The Knights offense was paced by Sean Armstrong who scored 22 points and pulled in 10 rebounds for his second double-double in as many games. Marquise Boggs netted 17 and Mike Walukiewicz contributed 14 points.
Baptist Bible College was lead by Tommy Waszaj who scored at 17 points. Travis Wash netted 11 points and 7 rebounds.
The teams were well matched in the first twenty minutes of play. A large portion of the first half saw the teams trading baskets with no lead larger than five points. In the final two and a half minutes of the first half, Neumann went on a 9-4 run, giving them a 31-26 lead heading into halftime.
The start of the second half saw the Knights and the Defenders continue to trade baskets. Baptist Bible cut the Neumann's lead down to three points, 52-49, with just under eight minutes left on the clock. The Knights quickly responded by going on a 10-2 run, taking a 62-51 advantage at the 5:18 mark. Neumann extended their lead to 13 points and never looked back. Neumann took home the 80-67 victory, improving to 13-10 overall and 11-5 in the conference.
The men's team is back in action at home on Thursday evening against Immaculata University following the women's game at 6 p.m.
