Men's Basketball Wins Thriller

ASTON, Pa. – Neumann University men's basketball picked up a tough Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) victory, 70-67, over Immaculata University Thursday night.

Before tonight's match-up Neumann honored four seniors: Sean Armstrong, Ty Robinson, Na'Sheed Linton, and Toure' Wright. 

Na'Sheed Linton and Marquise Boggs paced the Knights offense with 16 points each. Mike Walukiewicz netted 10 points.

Immaculata's was led by John Boyd who scored 21 points. Nelson Torres netted 14 and Robert Siter added 10 points. 

The conference match-up was well fought from start to finish. The first half of the game had the teams trading baskets. There were seven ties in the first half and neither team gained a significant advantage. The Mighty Macs had a 29-25 lead at halftime.

The beginning of the second half remained close and featured three ties. With the game knotted at 36 with 16:16 on the clock, Neumann went on a 9-0 run over two-and-a-half minutes to build a 45-36 lead. The Mighty Macs responded with a 9-2 run to get back within two points with 11:26 remaining.

The last tie of the game came with 7:06 on the clock and the teams knotted at 52. The Knights built back up a seven point lead, 65-58 on a Sean Armstrong lay-up with 1:35 left. The Mighty Macs did not give up and got to within one with under 30 seconds remaining. Walukiewicz and Linton both drained two from the line with less than sixteen seconds remaining in regulation. Immaculata's Boyd threw up a last second three-pointer, but it did hit the rim and bounced out. Neumann picked up the 70-67 victory and improved to 14-10 overall and 12-5 in the conference. 

Neumann will wrap-up its regular season this Saturday afternoon when it hosts against Cabrini. Start time is set for after the women's game which tips off at 1 p.m.
