Beinvenue Nets Hat Trick in Win

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team wrapped up its regular season with a 6-2 win over ECAC West Foe Lebanon Valley Friday night.

Jeffrey Bienvenue notched a hat trick in the win. Bill Foster had a goal and an assist. David Gervais added two assists. Ross MacKinnon made 19 saves in net.

Andrew Love opened the scoring 1:50 into the game. Bill Foster put Neumann up 2-0 on the power play. Bienvenue netted his first goal mid way through the period and Neumann took a 3-0 advantage into the first intermission.

Bienvenue then scored his second goal 1:59 into the second period to put Neumann up 4-0. Lebanon Valley scored at the 9:05 mark. Bienvenue completed the hat trick 14:27 into the second and put the Knights up 5-1.

LVC scored its second goal in the third period in a 5-on-3 power play. Brent Tamane then scored for the Knights with 2:55 left in the game to seal the win.

Before the game, Neumann honored its three seniors David Gooch, Matt Ward and Jonathan Keating.

The Knights finish the regular season 14-8-3, 7-5-3 in conference play. Neumann will host the first round of the ECAC West playoffs on Wednesday evening. The Knights are the No. 4 seed and will host the Pioneers of Utica College, the No. 5 seed. The face-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Ice Works.
