ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team will host Utica College on Wednesday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the ECAC West playoffs.
Neumann finished the regular season with a 14-8-3 overall record and 7-5-3 in the ECAC West to earn the No. 4 seed. Utica wrapped-up the season 8-13-4 and 4-9-2 in the ECAC West.
The Knights and Pioneers faced each other early in the season. Back in the beginning on November, the teams tied, 4-4, and the Pioneers took a game, 7-3, up in Utica. Neumann then won the final game between the team 5-4 before Thanksgiving.
Elmira earned the No. 1 seed with an 11-4 conference record. Manhattanville is the No. 2 seed 10-4-1 and Hobart is No. 3, finishing with a 9-4-2 ECAC West record.
The winner between Neumann and Utica will travel to Elmira on Saturday for a semifinal contest beginning at 7 p.m. Manhattanville and Hobart meet in the other semifinal.
