ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse fell to Elmira College 14-6 on a rainy and windy Saturday afternoon.
The Knights were led by Matt Toth and Kyle Gardner who each netted two goals. Toth also added an assist. Andrew Neubauer recorded nine saves.
The Soaring Eagles Brad Levick scored eight goals in the win. Kenny Keirstead added on two more goals for Elmira. TJ White notched four assists.
The Soaring Eagle controlled the play in the first two quarters, scoring four unanswered goals in the first quarter. A goal by Toth would put the Knights on the board in the second quarter. Neumann trailed 10-1 at the half.
Neumann's defense improved in the second half holding Elmira to four goals. In the final fifteen minutes of play Neumann's offense got on a roll and outscored the Soaring Eagles 4-2. Neumann scored two quick unanswered goals. Then in the final six minutes of play the Knights scored two more goals. Time eventually ran out and Neumann fell 14-6 to Elmira.
Neumann (1-3) is back in action next Saturday as they host Messiah at 1p.m.
