ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team fell to Chestnut Hill College, 10-7, in its 2010 season opener Tuesday evening.
Matt Toth had four goals for the Knights. Kyle Gardner added three assists. Andrew Neubauer made 11 saves.
The teams traded goals to begin the game, but Chestnut Hill scored the final two goals of the first quarter to take a 4-2 lead. The Knights would not tally in the second quarter and CHC took a 7-2 into halftime.
Neumann would get back on the board in the third quarter, but so did CHC as it held a 10-4 lead after three. The Knights held CHC off the board in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too large and fell 10-7.
The Knights will host American International on Monday in their second game of the season. The face-off is slated for 3:30 p.m. on the turf field.
