ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team wrapped-up Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action with a 20-16 win over Cedar Crest College Tuesday afternoon.
Alex Bohen led the Knights with nine goals and four assists. The nine goals ties the Neumann record for goals in a game. The 13 points set the school record for points in a game. Tiffany Baker netted five and Erica Crabtree added four. Kathleen Sinclair made 17 saves in net.
Kelly Oakes led the Falcons with four goals. Amanda Dombroski added three. Devin Ursini started the game and made seven saves. Kim Katsigianis had eight saves in 35 minutes.
The Knights jumped out to a 9-4 lead midway through the first half. The Flacons then rattled off six straight goals over the next seven minutes to take a 10-9 advantage. Crabtree tied the game at 10 and the teams went back-and-forth and went into halftime knotted at 12.
Neumann came out strong in the second half and scored six consecutive goals over the first 18 minutes for an 18-12 lead. The teams would trade goals throughout the final nine minutes, but the Knights held on for the 20-16 win.
Neumann (3-12, 2-6 CSAC) will play its last game of the 2010 season on Thursday when it hosts Bryn Mawr College. The game will be under the lights beginning at 7 p.m.
