Knights go 2-1, Pick up First Win

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team picked up its first win of the season as it went 1-2 at the Buttermaker Tournament at Muhlenberg College over the weekend.

The Knights fell to Moravian College on Friday night, 3-0. Natalie George led Neumann with 11 kills. Victoria Limmina had 12 digs and Cecily Scavicchio dished out 23 assists.

Neumann and DeSales went down to the last set, but the Knights fell 3-2. Neumann won the second and third sets of the match. Katelin Kuklentz had a team high 21 kills while George added 10 kills. Lauren Sheehan notched nine kills. Limmina had 28 digs. Scavicchio dished out 48 assists and 16 digs. Cait Cantwell added 10 digs. The team notched 10 services aces.

The Knights got their first win of the season in a 3-1 win over host Muhlenberg. George led the Knights again with 17 kills. Cantwell added 13. Scavicchio handed out 46 assists. Deanna Christy had 11 digs while Limmina added 10.

Natalie George was named to the All-Tournament team.

Neumann (1-6) will open conference place this Tuesday when it travels to Baptist Bible College. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
