ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team defeated Potsdam 6-2 Friday evening in non-conference action.

Marlon Gardner and Sean Bianchini each had a goal and an assist. Michael Rey added two assists. Ross MacKinnon made 16 saves in net.

Neumann opened the scoring in the first period with two goals within 46 seconds of each other. Cory Park scored at the 11:20 mark while Harley Garrioch lit the lap at 12:06. Bianchini then scored with 10 seconds left in the first period for a 3-0 Neumann lead heading into intermission. The seniors goal ended up being the game-winner.

Potsdam scored 56 seconds into the second period on the power play. Brent Tamane put the Knights back up by three midway through the second.

Potsdam notched its second goal midway through the third period. Gardner netted his goal with time winding down in the third period to seal the win.

Neumann improves to 8-4-2 overall. The two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon beginning at 4 p.m.
