BALTIMORE, Md. – The Neumann University field hockey team picked up a 6-1 win at Notre Dame University of Maryland on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Erica Crabtree led the Knights with two goals and two assists. Christina Hicks scored twice as well.
Notre Dame scored first, with a goal in the ninth minute. Neumann tied the game at one on Crabtree's first goal of the afternoon. The teams went into halftime knotted at one.
Part way through the second half, the Knights stormed the goal and put three goals in the net in a five minute span, including two by Hicks. Melissa Hood scored the middle goal.
To cap the scoring, Crabtree and Ashley Verbonitz scored eight second apart for the 6-1 final.
Lindsey Kasecamp made two saves in net and the Neumann defense held the Gators to three shots.
Neumann is now 4-11 overall and 2-3 in the conference. The Knights host Marywood on Tuesday evening at 7 PM in CSAC action.
