ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team fell to Eastern University 8-1 on a rainy Thursday evening in the final regular game.
Eastern scored two goals in the first half. The Eagles put a third goal on the board just 1:25 into the second half.
Erica Crabtree put the Knights on the board in the 40th minute off an assist from Melissa Hood.
Eastern answered with two quick goals for a 5-1 lead. Neumann did not have an answer to stop Eastern for the 8-1 final.
Sam Kotowski made six saves in net. Megan Scott had two defensive saves.
Neumann ends the regular season 6-12 overall. The Knights will be either the third or fourth seed in the conference playoffs and will travel for the semifinals next Wednesday. Opponent and time are both to-be-determined.
