ELMIRA, N.Y. – The No. 10 Neumann men's ice hockey team fell to No. 9 Elmira College 4-2 on Saturday evening in ECAC West action.
The Soaring Eagles scored two goals in a span of 47 seconds in the first period to jump out to a 2-0 lead.
Aaron Keaney cut the lead to 2-1 at the 15:40 mark of the second period. Mike Rey and Dan McDougall drew the assists. Elmira would put another goal on the board in the second and would hold a 3-1 lead after two.
The Soaring Eagles would make the score 4-1 7:04 into the third period. Jordan Zalba would net a power play goal at the 14:30 mark of the third period, but it would not be enough. Rey and William Lacasse had the assists on the goal.
Ross MacKinnon made 27 saves in net.
Neumann is now 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the ECAC West. The Knights will host Manhattanville and Utica next weekend in conference action.
