RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team fell to Cabrini College 3-2 in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinal match-up on Wednesday afternoon.
Neumann, who was the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, got on the board in the seventh minute as Christina Hicks put the ball in the net. Cabrini, the No. 2 seed tied the game at one at 17:57. The Knights responded 22 seconds later as Ashley Verbonitz scored off penalty corner. Hick assisted on the goal.
The Knights held the 2-1 lead at halftime.
The Cavaliers scored two unanswered goals in the second half for the 3-2 victory and will move onto the CSAC Championship game on Saturday.
Sam Kotowski made seven saves in the game.
Neumann ends its season 6-13 overall.
