Men’s basketball Defeated on the Road

RADNOR, Pa. – Neumann University men's basketball team suffers first conference (Colonial States Athletic Conference) loss to Cabrini 87-77 Monday night.

The Cavaliers jumped out to a 6-0 lead two minutes into the contest. Dom Gibson would open the scoring by draining a three to cut the lead three 6-3. The Cavaliers would go on a run and stretch the lead to as many as 11 points with 9:10 remaining in the first half 25-14. The Knights would go on a 16-5 run of their own with 3:43 left in the half, jumping in the lead 30-29. The half would end with the Cavaliers going on a 9-4 run and regaining the lead 38-34.

Neumann, Terrence Clark attacks the basket form two points at the 15:33 mark of the second half trailing 44-42. Rich Whitten's free throws cut the Cavaliers lead to three at the 15:12 mark and would not draw closer in the final 15 minutes.

The Knights could not overcome the rebound advantage for Cabrini 65-43. The Knights also had to account for the Cavaliers John Boyd's 25 points.

Mark Blount was superb, just one block short of a triple-double. He had 18 points, 11 rebounds and nine blocks on the night. Terrance Clark added 14 points and Rich Whitten had 14 points, eight rebounds, Dom Gibson threw up 12 points.

The Knights are 3-3 overall, 0-1 in the CSAC. They will be home against Gwynedd Mercy November, 30 at 8 pm.
