Men's Ice Hockey Lights Lamp 11 Times in 11-4 Win

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team netted a flurry of goals en route to an 11-4 win over Morrisville State on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

 

Four Knights lit the lamp twice in the game, Steve Gervais, Scott Farrell, William Lacasse and Cory Park. Jordan Zalba handed out four assists. D'Lane Sather notched three assists and Mike Rey added two.

 

The first period was calm, with just two goals scored. The Mustangs opened the scoring at the 9:56 mark. Park scored his first of two goals on a 5-on-3 power play at the 15:02 mark.

 

Dave Gervais gave Neumann the lead just 56 seconds in the second period. Lacasse and Sean Crozier also lit the lamp in the first 5:01 of the period as the Knights jumped up to a 4-1 lead.

 

The Mustangs netted the next two goals to come within one, 4-3. Farrell answered with two goals in a span of 3:39. The Knights held a 6-4 lead in the second intermission.

 

The goals kept coming in the third period. Lacasse and Park scored early. S. Gervais scored both of his goals in a span of 2:20 to make the score 10-4. Aaron Keaney capped the scoring with 1:42 left in regulation.

 

Four of Neumann's goals came on the man advantage.

 

Ross MacKinnon made 23 saves in net as Neumann improves to 7-3 overall. The Knights are off until after Christmas when they will travel to the Oswego Classic on December 30 and 31. Neumann will face Hamline University at 4:00 PM on the 30th.
