ASTON, Pa. – The No. 13 Neumann University men's ice hockey team fell to No. 7 Elmira Colleg 3-2 in overtime on Friday evening in ECAC West action.
Elmira scored with just 40 seconds left in the overtime session for the 3-2 win.
The teams played to a scoreless first period before the Soaring Eagles lit the lamp 3:31 into the second period. Elmira would take a 2-0 lead with a goal three minutes late.
Neumann cut the lead to 2-1 as Dave Gervais scored at the 8:42 mark. Cory Park and Marlon Gardner assisted on the goal.
Chris Bournazos would notch his first goal of the season at the 14:11 mark of the third period to tie the game at two and eventual force overtime. D'Lane Sather and Jake Kratz drew the assists.
Matt Tendler made 32 saves in net.
Neumann (5-3, 2-3 ECAC West) will host Morrisville State next weekend in a pair of non-conference contests.
