ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Basketball team defeated Philadelphia Biblical University (PBU) 76-47 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Wednesday evening.
Neumann led the majority of the game in points. The Crimson Eagles would tie the game at the 7:12 mark of the first half, making the score 18 all. Erica Marvel would post a three-pointer less than 10 seconds later to begin the Knights run to victory. This would be the closest PBU would come before the Knights would pull away and take a commanding lead as they scored the final 11 points of the half to take a 38-25 lead into the locker room.
The Knights would shut down PBU all the way to a score of 50-25 until the Crimson Eagles posted their first successful shot of the second half at the 15:18 mark.
Freshman Laura Scott led Neumann with 13 points, Marvel and Senior Sami Borcky knocked in 10 each, followed by Walker with nine. Seven other Knights contributed with points in Neumann's victory.
Neumann had six of their eight total three-pointers in the first half with contributions from freshman Brittany Wood, Marvel, sophomore Lauren Walker and Senior Cecily Scavicchio.
Neumann improves to 4-4 overall, 3-1 in the CSAC, and will travel to Rowan University on Saturday, December, 10th for a non-conference match-up. The game is slated to begin at 7PM.
