ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team completed a weekend sweep of No. 7 Utica College by a 3-1 score Saturday evening.
Ryan Dreger put the Knights on the board 4:27 into the first period. Scott Farrell then scored the eventual game-winner with a power play goal at the 7:37 mark.
Utica's George Lotito scored with 3:43 left in the second period to make it a 2-1 game.
Bill Foster notched an empty net goal with 55 seconds left in regulation to seal the win.
Ross MacKinnon made 25 saves for the Knights as they improve to 12-7-5 overall, 6-4-1 in the conference. Evan Smith made 27 saves for the Pioneers, who are now 17-7 overall and 6-5 in the ECAC West.
Before the game, the Knights honored its two seniors: Sean Bianchini and Jeff Rodell.
Neumann wraps-up its regular season schedule next Friday when it travels to Elmira for an ECAC West contest.
