ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's basketball polished off an upset against the first place Cabrini Cavaliers 86-78 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play Thursday evening in the Mirenda Center.

Cabrini came out showing why they are the number one seed heading into the playoffs, scoring early and often and jumping out to a 28-13 lead just under the 10 minute mark in the first half. The Knights wouldn't go down without a fight as they would climb their way back and head into the locker room only trailing by two.

The Knights would pick up where they left off and would take their first lead of the game, 44-43, a lead they would not relinquish, just two minutes into the half. Neumann would not let up as they would extend its lead to nine points with 12:47 remaining. Cabrini would then go on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to three with just over 10 minutes left in regulation. With 4:58 on the clock and the score 71-69, Neumann went on an 8-0 run to extend the lead 79-69. The closest Cabrini would get would be six points and when the final buzzer sounded the scoreboard read Neumann 86, Cabrini 78.

The win snapped Cabrini's 14 game winning-streak and will give the Knights a five game winning streak heading into the playoffs.

Neumann finishes off the regular season 15-10, 12-6 CSAC. Cabrini finishes the regular season 20-5, 16-2 CSAC. Neumann is the fourth seed going into the post season and will host Marywood (fifth seed) on Saturday at 3 p.m..
