WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team opened its 2011 campaign with an 11-6 loss at King's (Pa.) College on Saturday.
Sam Maldou had two goals and two assists for the Knights. Mark Consolo had a goal and two assists. Andrew Neubauer made 19 saves in net.
Neumann scored two goals in the second quarter and King's held a 5-2 lead at half time. Despite being down on the scoreboard, the Knights did not give up and notched four goals in the fourth quarter, including the last three goals of the contest.
Neumann (0-1) will open its home schedule on Tuesday evening when it hosts Richard Stockton College. The first face-off is slated for 7 p.m.
