Neumann Drops 17-14 at Hood

FREDERICK, Md. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team fell to Hood College 17-14 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

 

Alexandra Bohen led the Knights with five goals. Lauren Frampton added three. Meghan Garsey and Erica Crabtree each netted two. Garsey also notched three assists. Sam Kotowski made 14 saves in net.

 

Crabtree and Bohen notched the first two goals of the game to put Neumann up 2-0. The Knights would hold the team throughout the first half. Frampton scored with 53 seconds remaining in the half to give Neumann a 7-5 advantage into the break.

 

The Blazers would net the first two goals of the second half to tie the game. Bohen would then score two goals to give the Knights the two goal lead again. Hood would score the next six goals to jump out to a 13-9 advantage. The Knights would net three of the next four goals to cut the Blazers lead down to two, 14-12.

 

Hood built its lead back up and held a 17-12 advantage with just over two minutes remaining. The Knights did not go without a fight and scored with 1:12 and 14 seconds left in regulation, but they could not overcome the deficit.

 

Neumann (0-3) will host Scranton on Wednesday evening beginning at 7 p.m.
