Knights Come Up Short Against Cyclones

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann Women's Lacrosse team dropped their game on 
Wednesday afternoon against Centenary College 23-21 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play.

 

Alex Bohen led the Knights with five goals. Erica Crabtree, Meghan Garsey and Carla Melendez all notched three goals for Neumann. Candice Oakley made seven saves in net.

 

In the first half Centenary jumped out to a 12-5 lead with 14:46 remaining in the first half. Neumann would then cut the lead to two, 12-10, on four straight goals. The teams went into halftime with Centenary leading 15-12.

 

The Knights kept it close in the second half but could not quite handle Centenary's offense. Back to Back goals by Lexy Wilkinson brought the Knights within one, 22-21, with 6:58 remaining in regulation. The Cyclones would then cap the scoring with 5:30 remaining and hold on for the 23-21 win.

 

With the Loss, Neumann drops to 2-6 (1-2 CSAC). Neumann will welcome Swarthmore College next Tuesday on the Turf field. Game is set for 6 p.m.
