ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team fell to Elmira College 5-1 in the ECAC West Championship game on Saturday evening.

Michael Rey scored the Knights goal. Ross MacKinnon made 30 saves in net.

Four of the six goals in the game came on special teams.

Elmira scored the only goal of the first period on the power play.

Rey tied the game at one at the 8:55 mark of the second period, also on the power play. Marlon Gardner and Jordan Zalba assisted on the goal.

The Soaring Eagles took the lead back just a minute and a half later and took the 2-1 lead into the second intermission.

Elmira took a 3-1 lead 6:33 into the third period. The Soaring Eagles then notched two shorthanded goals, one shorthanded, to seal the win.

Rey and Zalba were named to the All-Tournament team.

Neumann is now 14-8-5 on the season. The Knights will see it their season continues when NCAA bracket is announced on Monday.
