PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team defeated La Roche College 10-9 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Justin Mailloux scored four goals for the Knights. Mike Pantelone added three while Nick Ferraro added two. Andrew Neubauer started the game and made 21 saves in 55 minutes for the win. Alex Becker played the final five minutes and made one save.

The teams both notched two goals in the first quarter. Neumann scored three goals in the second while La Roche netted two and the Knights took a 5-4 lead into halftime.

The Knights scored the only two goals of the third quarter for a 7-4 advantage going into the final 15 minutes.

Neumann led 10-5 with under 10 minutes to play before La Roche attempted a comeback. The Redhawks notched two goals in the 40 second to cut the deficit to three with 7:30 left on the clock.

With the Knights up by two and led than a minute to play, The Redhawks found the back of the net with 45 seconds left in regulation. La Roche would add one more goal with eight seconds left, but Neumann held on and took the 10-9 win.

Neumann is now 2-7 on the season. The Knights will host Shenandoah on Wednesday afternoon in a conference contest beginning at 4 p.m.
