GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest at Gwynedd-Mercy College, 13-7, on Wednesday evening.
Justin Mailloux led all scorers with four goals. Mike Pantelone notched two goals and an assist. Steven Miner had a goal and an assist and Mark Consolo dished out two assists. Andrew Neubauer started in net and made 10 saves in net in almost 59 minutes. Alex Becker made one save in the final minute of play.
Gwynedd-Mercy started the game by netting the first six goals of the game. Pantelone put Neumann on the board at the 2:16 mark of the first quarter.
The Knights started the second quarter with three straight goals and scored four of the six goals in that quarter. The Griffins held a 9-5 lead at the half.
The teams traded goals in the third quarter. GMC then put three goals on the board in the fourth quarter. Mailloux netted the Knights lone of the final quarter for the 13-7 Griffin final.
Neumann is now 3-10 on the season and 1-4 in the conference. The Knights will wrap-up their 2011 campaign on Saturday when they host Centenary College in CSAC action. It will also be senior day.
