IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team defeated Immaculata 2-1 in overtime on Saturday morning in Colonial States Athletic (CSAC) play.

Immaculata scored on a penalty stroke in the first half and held the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Erica Crabtree tied the game at one just 1:48 into the second half off of a penalty corner.

The teams would remain knotted at one and needed overtime to decide a winner.

Ashley Verbonitz would score her first collegiate goal 2:13 into the overtime session to lift the Knights to a 2-1 win. Christina Hicks assisted on the goal.

Lindsey Kasecamp made two saves in net for the win.

The Knights improve to 2-6 on the season and 1-1 in the conference. Neumann will continue its road swing with a stop at Albright College next Thursday for a 7:00 PM game.
