Box Score

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - The Neumann University fell to Baptist Bible University in the Colonial States Athletic Conference 73-61 Wednesday evening.

The Knights were slow going in the first half as the Defenders opened the game on a 14-0 run. The Defenders quick start produced a swag-like mentality. It carried through the entire first half leading 36-26 at the halftime break.

The second half started much like the first half with the Defenders stretching their lead to as many as 18 points. The Knights battled, but were unable to get the lead down into single digits.

The Defenders, Luke Peterson scored 21 points and Dan Dodd scored 19 points proving to be more than a thorn in the Knight's side.

The Knights lack luster performance put the defenders on the free throw for 29 attempts, while making 20 of those 29 attempts.

The Defenders made the most consistent Knight's player seem average, as Mark Blount could only muster six points and eight rebounds. Patrick O'Conner led all Knight in scoring with 20 points and Gerald Bryant added 11 points. Branden Harrington contributed 10 points off the bench.

The Knights missed a great opportunity to take advantage of a team that only had one conference win. The loss drops the Knights to 5-5 in the conference and another familiar road loss (2-8 on the road).

"This loss leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth," said Coach Stanziano. "It's tough watching us loss games we should win, we are better than this performance. We just need to go out and prove that we are better every time we step on the court."

The Knights travel to Keystone College for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
