BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Neumann University women's hockey team fell at Sacred Heart University 4-3 on Saturday evening in non-conference action.
Sacred Heart scored the first two goals in the first period to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Olivia Pryzbylkowski cut the lead to 2-1 at the 15:37 mark of the first. Sacred Heart answered and took a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.
Kayla Dubowski and Amanda Simpson lit the lamp for the Knights in the second period to knot the game at three.
Mid-way through the third period, Sacred Heart scored a shorthanded goal for a 4-3 lead. The Knights pulled the goalie to try and even the score, but they could not get a tying goal.
Shannon Donnelly made 21 saves in net.
Neumann (1-7-2) and Sacred Heart will face-off again tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
