ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team fell at Rosemont College 81-71 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Monday evening.
Gerald Bryant led four Knights in double-digits with 14 points. Mark Blount notched 13 points in 10 rebounds. Patrick O'Connor added 13 points and Mike Walukiewicz had 10.
The first half was a tale of two runs. Rosemont had the first run and built a 13 point lead, 20-7, at the 12:12 mark of the half. With the Ravens holding a 28-18 advantage, went on an 11-2 run, capped by a layup by O'Connor, for a one point game, 30-29. Rosemont took a 37-32 lead into the break.
Rosemont would make the big run in the second half over a four minute period take a four point game, 43-39, and turn it into a 16 point game, 58-42, with 10:33 on the clock. Over the next four-and-a-half minutes, the Knights cut the lead back into a single digit, 62-53, however Neumann could not close the rest of the gap over the final seven minutes and Rosemont held on for the 81-71 win.
Neumann is now 6-8 overall and 3-4 in the CSAC. The Knights will host Immaculata on Wednesday evening in the second part of a doubleheader beginning at 8:00 PM
