ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team (14-8) split matches as they lost to Franklin & Marshall 3-1 and beat Ursinus College 3-0 on Saturday in the Knights Fall Classic.

In the first match against Franklin & Marshall, the Knights took the first set (25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 11-25) only to see them falter in the final three sets.

The Knights were led by Cecily Scavicchio with 34 assists and 13 digs, Victoria Limmina with 16 digs and Katelin Kuklentz had 12 kills.
The Knights were able to rebound in the second match of the day by taking it Ursinus College (25-11, 25-22, 25-16) in three sets.
Being that the Knights only scored 11 points in the final set against F & M, it would only be prudent to inflict the same displeasure to Ursinus. Ironically, they did so by only allowing 11 points in the first set.

The win was capped by with Natalie Geroge shot joining the 1,000 kill club and Kuklentz reaching the 1,000 digs milestone against Ursinus.

Scavicchio padded 15 assists to her stats and Limmina provided 14 digs.

“It's important for us to have these out of contest matches to keep our mental and physical sharpness,” said Coach Jespersen. “When you look at our body of work over the last 10 games, it's not bad that we only lost one out the last ten, but we come to expect to win on a regular basis though.”

The volleyball team won two out of three matches in the Knights Fall Classic and will now focus on conference play starting this Wednesday October 17th at Notre Dame of Maryland University, slated for a 7 p.m. start.
