Field Hockey Cut Down By Giants

 LA PLUME, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team lost to Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponents Keystone College 4-2 Tuesday evening.

The Knights were lead by Kenya Woods and Tatiana Matyola with one goal each, as Keystone extended their conference record to 5-0 and the Knights are 2-2.

The Giants opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the game. Not long after that the Giants doubled their lead when they scored a goal in the 18th minute of play.

Woods brought the Knights back into the game with a goal in the 27th minute into the first half. The Knights were able to regroup and establish momentum going into the halftime break. The break was well needed as the Giants outshot the Knights 13-2 in first half.

The Giants came out flying in the second half and two goals in the 43rd and 50th minute gave them a 4-1 lead.

The field hockey team showed resilience as they scored in the 58th minute from Motyola.

The Knights continued to press for another goal, but to no avail. The Knights reeled off six second half to the Giants nine shots.

Nicole Galvin  made seven saves and Lindsey Kasecamp made an appearance as she didn't have to make any saves.

The field Hockey team (2-2 CSAC) travels to The College of New Jersey October 11th at 7:30 p.m.
