Box Score

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey game would give up three power play goals losing 4-2 against ECAC West Oswego State University, Saturday evening.

Freshman Megan Russelo scored both goals that kept the Knights in striking distance before Oswego State finished the contest with two late goals to seal the game.

The fans enjoyed a scoreless first period with each squad getting six shots on target. Neither team took advantage of their power play opportunities, as the Knights had a five against three situation, for only a short amount of time.

Oswego State drew first blood when they scored off a Neumann roughing penalty at the 17:09 mark in the second period. The Knights cornered the market in blocks for the second period as there were three consecutive blocks during a Oswego State power play. Both teams took five shots on target during the second period.

The third period claimed five goals and a thrilling 20 minute finale. Russelo scored her first goal as she held the puck behind the net and played the puck off the goalkeeper to tie the score at 1-1, just 3:03 into the third period.

Oswego State reclaimed the lead with a power play goal 5:54 into the period to lead 2-1. Russelo's second goal was swift and quick, striking at the less than a minute late to tie the score at 2-2. Ang Gilmour received a pass from Lynsey Nakamura and Russelo did the rest scoring 10 feet from goal.

Oswego State cashed in on another power play moments later and threw in another goal at the end to secure the win.

Shannon Donnelly had 16 saves on the night.

The Knights (2-1-1, 2-1 ECAC West) return on the ice against ECAC West Oswego State November 18 at 3 p.m.
