ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team tied SUNY-Cortland 3-3 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The game was back and forth and featured 79 shots on goal. Andrew Love opened the scoring 4:48 into the game off a pass from D'Lane Sather. Cortland tied the game at one on a shorthanded goal with under three minutes remaining in the first.
Aaron Keaney picked up from where he left off last night and scored 1:16 into the second period. Dave Gervais and Love assisted on the goal. The Red Dragons tied the game less than a minute later.
Gervais netted an unassisted shorthanded goal at the 6:17 mark to once again put the Knights up, 3-2. Cortland answered yet again, this time with a power play goal. The teams went into the second intermission knotted at three.
No one could find the back of the net in the third period and the game went into overtime. The Knights killed off a penalty in the extra session and came away with a tie.
Braley Torris made 35 saves in net.
Neumann (4-2-1) heads on the road for its next six contests. The Knights start with action next weekend when they travels Hobart of a pair of games.
