ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team picked up a good non-conference win, 54-49, over Rowan University on Thursday evening.

JoHanna Metzger led the Knights with 13 points. Jessica Schlesman added 12 points. Laura Scott pulled down 10 rebounds.

The game came down to the final minutes of regulation, as the teams were tied at 47. Schlesman hit a lay-up and a free three throw for a 50-47 advantage. The Profs then answered with a jumper for a one-point game. Metzger then went 1-for-2 from the line and Schlesman went 3-for-4 down the stretch to secure the 54-49 win.

The game stayed close the entire way, as neither team could pull away. The largest lead of the game for either team was just six points. At the half, Rowan held a two point lead, 23-21.

Neumann improves to 3-6 overall. The Knights will take a break for the holiday and gets back on the court on January 2 when they face Fairleigh Dickinson in the Moravian Tournament. Tip-off for the game is slated for 1:00 PM.
