MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey defeated Morrisville State 4-1 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
Chris Bournazos started where he left off last night, scoring the first goal 2:35 into the game. Craig Cowie picked up his first of two assists of the night on the goal.
Jake Kratz put the Knights up 2-0 1:44 into the second period off assists from Dan McDougall and Cowie. The Mustangs scored their lone goal at the 14:03 mark of the second period to cut the deficit in half.
Neumann put two goals on the board in the third period to seal the win. Dave Gervais scored a power play goal 1:45 into the third period. Jordan Zalba notched the assist.
Brandon Gagne added an insurance goal, his first collegiate goal, at the 7:16 mark off assists from Jon Low and D'Lane Sather.
The Knights scored early in each period en route to the win. Braely Torris made 13 saves in net in the first period. Ben Curley made 27 saves in the final two periods to pick up the win.
Neumann (5-4-2) is off until after the New Year when it travels to the Norwich University Tournament. The Knights will face UMass-Dartmouth on January 4 beginning at 4:00 PM.
