UTICA, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team and No. 10 Utica College tied 3-3 on Saturday evening in ECAC West action.
The scoring started quickly as the Pioneers scored just 15 seconds into the first period. The Knights answered as Cory Park scored 52 seconds into the period off assists from Brent Tamane and Marlon Gardner.
Utica would take a 2-1 lead at the 15:18 mark with a power play tally. Neumann again answered quickly as Andrew Love netted a shorthanded goal 37 seconds later. Tamane assisted on the goal. Dave Gervais would cap the first period scoring with 1:25 left on the clock to put the Knights up 3-2 heading into the intermission. Jordan Zalba and Mike Rey drew the assists.
The Pioneers tied the game at three 4:07 into the second period. Neither team could score over the next 40+ minutes of action.
Ross MacKinnon made 38 saves in net.
Neumann (13-7-2, 3-6-2 ECAC West) hosts Elmira College next Sunday in the regular season finale.
