ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team defeated Arcadia University 15-11 on a rainy and cold Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
Erica Crabtree led the Knights with seven goals. Koula Gregor added three tallies. Meghan Garsey had two goals and three assists. Sam Kotowski made eight saves for the win.
The teams traded goals to start the game. Crabtree then rattled off three straight goals and the Knights first four to take a 4-2 advantage. After Arcadia made it 4-3, Neumann scored three straight goals for a 7-3 lead. Arcadia finished the half with two goals for a 7-5 halftime score.
The Knights came out on fire in the second half and scored the first six goals to jump out to a 13-5 lead. Arcadia would not go away quietly and continued to try and keep pace with Neumann. The six goals at the start of the half proved to be enough and the Knights held on for the 15-11 win.
Neumann (2-0) will host Wesley College on Friday at 4:00 PM.
