ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team fell to conference rival Cabrini College 60-73 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Wednesday evening.
The Knights found themselves down by 10 points with 5:33 remaining in the first half. Sophomore Dom Gibson would make two 3-pointers in a row to help bridge the gap, followed by a jump-shot by Junior Terrance Clark to bring Neumann within two of the Cavaliers. Both teams battled back and forth as time wound down. Senior Patrick O'Connor hit his classic three-pointer from the sweet spot with just six seconds remaining. Neumann trailed Cabrini at the half with a score 34-35.
Early in the second half the game was tied at 40-all. Cabrini would go on a 14-3 run and kept the Knights at arm's length for the rest of the contest.
Neumann, 11-12 overall, 8-8 (CSAC), travels to conference rival Gwynedd-Mercy College on Saturday for a 4PM start.
