ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team beat Rosemont College 22-8 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Tuesday afternoon.

The weather could not have been any better for a game of lacrosse in the middle of March. Spring is on its way and flowers are looking to bloom, much like the men's lacrosse team. The Knights are well rooted and looking to blossom. The 22 goals is not a common occurrence, rather a step in the right direction. Truth be told, the Knights played all their players on the bench and the game became truly a “team” win.

Mike Pantalone scored five goals and Ryan O'Kane scored three goals to lead the Knights. The Knights jammed a snowman in the net, recording eight goals in the first quarter. Mike “pants” Pantalone pantomimed four first quarter goals and zipped in another goal in the second quarter, leading the Knights with five goals.

Nothing could be finer than to see Steven Miner score two goals and add two assists. Miner summed up his own personal game today, as he is a probing attacker.  He's like a Verizon commercial “can you hear me now”, as he moves all over the field for better reception. Miner is only comfortable by scoring or assisting to fellow teammates.

The youngster Patrick Rose made a cameo appearance in the first and partially the second quarters. Rose contributed one goal and three assist and got a nice pat on the back for making the most of limited minutes. Fellow youngster, O'Kane whipped up a hat trick and proved the young guns continue to be proficient goal scorers. Rosemont walked away from the game feeling they would have stood a better shot at the game “if it wasn't for those medaling kids”.

The Knights took great delight scoring eight second quarter goals. Even better, they gave up no goals and took a 16-1 half time lead. Every time someone said “pull”, a shot reached the back of the net.

The second half represented a much different game. It wasn't an “evening of reflection”, rather an “evening of inspection”, as all the Knights were accounted for in the game. All three goalkeepers were used and all played between 19 – 20 minutes each. Andrew Neubauer, Alex Becker and Kyle Welch made three total saves on the day.

Ricky Viscue and Drew Millard made second half contributions and each scored two goals.

The only down side to the game for the Knights became conceding two many penalties and too many goals in the second half.

“We needed this game, it was a confidence builder for us and we were able to get all our players on the field”, said Assistant Coach Corrado.

The Knights 3-2 overall, 1-0 CSAC are back in action Thursday March 15 against non-conference opponents Utica College, slated for a 4 p.m. start.
