ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team defeated Hood College 20-14 in non-conference action Tuesday evening.
Hood started off the scoring rally by tallying their first goal just 59 seconds into the first half, but the Knights would show them who's boss with two back-to-back goals by junior Erica Crabtree in the next three minutes. Both teams battled back and forth taking turns finding the back of the net, but the Knights would begin to pull away from the Blazers with just 17 minutes remaining by a goal from freshman Emily Sanders. The Knights led at the half 12-8.
Neumann came out of half time with a bang, scoring two more goals in less than seven minutes by freshman Amanda Fedak and senior Alexandra Bohen. The Knights continued to pull away, keeping Hood at an arm's length for the remainder of the game.
Bohen finished the evening with six goals and three assists, followed by Fedak with three goals. Crabtree racked up 4 points with three goals and one assist. Junior Suzanne Sheehan, senior Meghan Garsey, and sophomore Koula Gregor each had two goals, along with sophomore Andrea Larosso with one goal.
Sophomore goaltender Sam Kotowski had 14 saves in net.
Neumann, 4-1, takes the field again Thursday evening as they host Bryn Mawr College at 7PM on the turf.
