Box Score

Marywood 13, Neumann 12

SCRANTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's lacrosse team lost 13-12 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) against Marywood University, Saturday afternoon.

In a fourth quarter thriller, the Knights were doomed when the Pacers scored the go ahead goal with 15 seconds remaining in the game.

The Knights started out whoozy, as they gave up a 3-0 lead in the first quarter.

Sam Maldou would get a goal back just 17 seconds into the second quarter. The Knights would score two more goals and trail 6-3 at halftime.

Mike Pantalone would score three of his five goals in the third quarter and help tie the score at 9-9.

Pantalone would continue his scoring frenzy to start the fourth quarter, as he netted the first two of the quarter to give the Knights an 11-9 lead.

The Pacers would cut the lead to 11-10, but Sam Maldou had a great response, as he was hoping to deliver the final blow 12-10 to the Pacers.

Straight from a movie script, the Pacers scored seven seconds later and with 2:13 remaining in the game. With the Knights clinging to a one goal lead, the Pacers put the pedal to the metal and tied the score with 1:04 left in the game.

The “Pacy” Pacers flew down the field for one last attack and with 15 seconds to go in the game, the Knights were left wondering why this wasn't their day, as Marywood scored in dramatic fashion.

Andrew Neubauer made 20 saves. Pantalone had five goals and Ryan O'Kane had two goals/three assist.

The Knights travel to Wesley College April 18 in non-conference action, for a 7 p.m. start time.
