DOVER, Del. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team defeated Wesley College 8-7 on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
Mike Pantalone and Ryan O'Kane each netted three goals for the Knights. O'Kane added two assists. Andrew Neubauer started the game and picked up the win, making 16 saves in net. Alex Becker was in net for the final minute and made one save.
The teams played a tight game throughout the 60 minutes. O'Kane ended up scoring the game-winning goal 4:05 left in regulation.
After the Wolverines scored the first goal of the game, the Knights netted three goals for a 3-1 lead after one quarter. The teams each scored one in the second half and Neumann held a 4-2 lead at halftime.
Wesley would eventually tie the game at five at the first of the fourth quarter. Neumann took a 7-5 lead, but Wesley would again come back and tie the game, this time at 7-7. O'Kane responded a minute and a half after the Wolverines tied the game with the game-winning goal off a pass from Patrick Rose.
Neumann (5-8) will host Cabrini on Saturday afternoon in conference action with a 4:00 PM start.
