ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team fell to Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) rival Marywood University 13-9 Monday evening.
The Pacers found the back of the net early, scoring just 59 seconds into the first half. Koula Gregor would answer back less than two minutes later off a free position attempt. Marywood's Taylor McKeown and Neumann's Meghan Garsey would both score once to bring another tie to the game.
Marywood scored four more times to pull away with a lead compared to just one more tally by Alexandra Bohen. The Knights trailed the Pacers 6-3 at the half.
Both teams battled throughout the second half, but Neumann was unable to top the Pacers as they fought their way to victory, giving them an undefeated record in the CSAC.
Garsey led the Knights in points with two goals and one assist, giving her three points. Gregor had two goals, as well as Bohen and Andrea Lorusso. Amanda Fedak added one tally.
Sam Kotowski made six saves in net.
Neumann (10-5, 5-3 CSAC) will await the final standings for post-season play. CSAC first round begins on Saturday.
