Hackettstown, N.J. The Neumann University men's lacrosse team end their playoff hopes with a loss to Centenary Cyclones in the Colonial States Athletic Conference 18-4, Thursday afternoon.
The Cyclones took a quick 2-0 lead in the first quarter with 10:41 remaining in the quarter.
The Knights bounced quickly with Patrick Rose scoring at the 10:32 mark in the first quarter, but the Cyclones finished the quarter leading 3-1.
In an attempt to kill off the game, the Cyclones scoring five consecutive goals and take an 8-1 lead in the second quarter. The Cyclones would score five out of eight goals on man up opportunities.
Mike Pantelone scored with 44 seconds remaining in the first half and give the Cyclones an 8-2 lead.
Sam Maldou scored two goals early in the third period to cut the Cyclone lead to 9-4. The Cyclones followed up with another five goal flurry to lead 14 -4 after three quarters.
The Cyclones scored four fourth quarter goals to seal the win.
Andrew Neubauer finished the game with nine saves and contributed one assist.
The men's lacrosse team (5-10, 2-5 CSAC) will host La Roche College on Saturday for their season finale at a 1 p.m. start time.
