ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team picked up its third conference win with a 3-0 win over Cedar Crest on Tuesday evening. Set scores were 25-15, 25-16, 25-22.
The first set started and the teams went back and forth before the Knights pulled away. The second set was much of the same. In the third set, it looked like Neumann had the set and match under control by a 21-14 score. The Falcons were not going to go quietly and climbed their way back into a 23-21 score. The Knights took a timeout, but the Falcons answered with another point and a 23-22 score. Cedar Crest then committed a service error and that ended the momentum and the Knights took the match on the next serve.
Gianna Jones made noise on the court, notching 16 kills and just one error for a .556 hitting percentage. Katelin Kuklentz added 10 kills. Natalie George came in storming and ended with eight kills and a .316 hitting percentage.
Cecily Scavicchio, who was honored for her 1,000th kill before the match, handed out 37 assists.
Kuklentz added 18 kills and four service aces to her night. Scavicchio had 13 and Victoria Limmina added 12.
The team had seven blocks, led by George with four bock assists.
Neumann (8-7, 3-0 CSAC) will host Cairn University and Frostburg State on Saturday for a tri-match beginning at 2:00 PM.
