Men's Hockey Blanks Golden Flyers

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team shutout Nazareth College 3-0 in the first meeting of the two teams in ECAC West action Saturday evening.

 

Chris Bournazos had two goals for the Knights. Jordan Zalba dished out two assists. Braely Torris picked up the shutout, making 35 saves between the pipes. The Knights scored a goal in each period en route to the win.

 

Bournazos didn't waste any time getting on the board, scoring just 43 seconds into the game. Craig Cowie and Zalba notched the assists.

 

Bournazos netted his second goal of the game, 12th on the season, 5:52 into the second period. Zalba had the assist again as well.

 

Mike Cauley netted an unassisted goal midway through the third period, just in case the Golden Flyers made a push at the end. Torris stood tall in the net for the final period, making 18 of his 35 saves in the third period, as Neumann came away with the 3-0 win.

 

Neumann is now 12-5-2 overall and 4-5 in the ECAC West. The Knights have a home-and-home with Manhattanville next weekend for conference action, starting on the road on Friday.
