Volleyball Takes Two Exciting Games at Fall Classic

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team took two exciting matches at day one of the Knights Fall Classic on Friday night.

In the first match, the Knights defeated Franklin & Marshall in four sets. Neumann won the first set 25-18. The teams battle back and forth for the first few points. The Diplomats then scored seven straight points to take a 10-3 lead. The Knights battled back and eventually tied the set at 14 before taking the set.

The set second went back and forth as well and 25 points was not enough to decide set two. Neumann came away with the 28-26 win. Franklin & Marshall took set three 25-2. The Knights answered and won the fourth set for the win, 25-22.

Katelin Kuklentz and Kelsey D'Imperio each had 12 kills in the match. Kat Wolf handed out 34 assists. D'Imperio notched six block solos. Kuklentz and Danielle Kwapisz each had 14 digs.

In the second match, 25 points was not enough to decide the first set and the Knights eventually came away with a 36-34 win. The second set was no different, and Neumann took a 28-26 win. The Lions would win the next two sets, 25-22 and 25-19, to force a deciding fifth set.

The fifth set was no different than the rest of the match. The score was 8-7 Neumann when the teams switched sides of the court. Julia Malseed served three straight points to get the Knights to 13 and Neumann came away with the 15-12 win.

Kuklentz had 23 kills while D'Imperio added 17. Wolf dished out 57 assists.

Malseed finished with 31 digs. Kuklentz notched 18, Kwapisz 17 and Nicole Collevechio 11 digs.


Neumann will face Gallaudet tomorrow at 4:00 PM.
