ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University fell to Cabrini College, 3-0, on Wednesday evening in the match of the unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. Set scores were 25-19, 25-17, 25-20.
Kat Wolf started the match off right with two straight service aces. The teams battled back and forth before the Cavaliers rattled off eight straight points and took a 16-9 advantage. With Cabrini sitting on 24 points, Neumann notched three straight points to get to 19, but the Knights could not make the full comeback.
Cabrini took control of the second set, gaining an 8-2 early lead, and never looked back.
The teams went back and forth in the third set, just like the first set. The Knights took four straight points to take an 8-6 lead and forced the Cavaliers to take a timeout. Cabrini came out of the time our and took four straight points. The set would continue to be back and forth, but the Cavaliers would come out with the 25-20 win and the match.
Kelsey D'Imperio led the Knights with 10 kills and two block solos. Wolf handed out 25 assists. Katelin Kuklentz notched 12 digs.
Neumann (15-10, 6-1 CSAC) heads to Widener on Saturday morning for a tri-match with the Pride and Swarthmore. The Knights return home later that afternoon to host Baptist Bible at 4 PM as part of the Homecoming festivities.
