Field Hockey Offense Explodes in 11-1 Win

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Neumann University field hockey team exploded for 11 goals en route to an 11-1 win at Notre Dame of Maryland University on Thursday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

Jess Harrell and Lindsey Spatola led the Knights with three goals. apiece. Alexa McIntyre had a goal and an assist. Becky Guinto handed out three assists. Lindsey Kasecamp started the game in net and made six saves in net. Becca Wallace played the final 10 minutes.

Harrell got the scoring underway in the fifth minute of the first half. The Gators answered and tied the game at one a minute later.

McIntyre put the Knights ahead for good in the 10th minute. Harrell scored her two final goals in the 12th and 28th minutes for a 4-1 score that Neumann held going into the half.

Just 48 seconds into the seconds into the second half, Shae Risley netted her first collegiate goal for a 5-1 lead. Carolynn Bacho and Jill Richards scored a minute apart for a 7-1 game.

Megan Shumate notched a goal in the 54th minute. Spatola scored her three goals as the final three goals of the game en routo te the 11-1 final.

With the fifth straight win, Neumann improves to 7-8 overall and 3-0 in CSAC action. The Knights host Cabrini on Saturday in CSAC action beginning at 5 PM as part of the Homecoming festivities.
